Matt Marshak August 18th, 2007 |
For
those of you who missed Matt Marshak at the Redstone. May I be the first
to console you!
These
four gentlemen perform like artists at the top of their careers. Of
course Matt played songs from his CD's such as New York Ave (my personal
favorite) and other jazz artists' songs… However Matt deviated
from the norm with songs by artists such as Eric Clapton and Prince.
The
entire band's personalities (on and off stage) were some of the most
fun and refreshing we have seen so far! Matt is an extremely interactive
artist, he sports his wireless device, hops off the stage working his
way through the crowd showing off his athletic playing style. While
playing the faster paced songs his hand movements were literally a blur
and were fluid as though he was playing on air. I'd like to add Matt
is the most gracious and polite person I have ever had the honor to
meet. Kenny the bass player continuously wins you over with his classic
style and smile throughout the concert. Off stage he is such a genuine
and sincere person it would bring you to tears. Rodney the keyboardist
has a natural technical ability to make the keyboard sound like whatever
instrument he chooses. Carl the drummer of the group maybe "the
class clown" off stage, but once on stage this man gets down to
business and makes mouths drop with his unique cris cross "Matrix"
like moves. One drum solo easily lasted a full five intense minutes
leaving the audience cheering for more.
A
word of warning: This band will reach out to you, and pull you into
their world of warmth and soothing sounds….leaving you addicted
for life.
Matt
come back! We miss you already!
